With your classes upgraded, it's time to prepare for the endgame. This chapter focuses on collecting key items and buying the strongest spells in the game. Keep 40,000 Gil available - you'll need it for an important purchase.
Gaia
Gaia is hidden in a mountain clearing in the northeast area of the world map. The mountains form a bird's eye shape around it - only reachable by Airship. The townsfolk mention a local Faerie that's gone missing.

Gaia sells Level 7 and 8 magic - the strongest in the game. Only White Wizards and Black Wizards can learn these. Level 7 spells cost 30,000 Gil each, Level 8 costs 40,000 Gil each. For your White Wizard: Curaja (full party heal), Holy (high damage), and NulAll (protects against all elements). For your Black Wizard: Blizzaga is the priority. Leave one spell slot open for Flare in Lufenia.
The armor shop sells Ruby Armlet (40,000 Gil) and Protect Ring (16,000 Gil). Both are usable by any class. Buy them if you can afford them after spells.
The Desert Caravan
Fly west to the continent with the Citadel of Trials. In the northwest area, find a small desert patch with a forest just east of it. Land south of the desert and walk north to reach the Caravan.

Inside, buy the Bottled Faerie for 40,000 Gil. The merchant also sells stat-boosting tonics if you want them for boss fights.
Getting the Oxyale
Return to Gaia with the Bottled Faerie. As you enter town, the Faerie breaks free and flies to the pond in the northeast corner. Follow her and talk to her - she apologizes for the trouble and gives you the Oxyale. This item lets your party breathe underwater.

Waterfall Cavern
Before diving into the Sunken Shrine, you need the Warp Cube for later. Fly to the continent northeast of the Caravan and find Onrac (a port town). Use the Canoe on the river northwest of Onrac and paddle to the waterfall. The cavern entrance is inside the waterfall itself.

This is a single-floor dungeon. Enemies include Mummies, Cockatrices, King Mummies, and Pyrolisks - Fire and Dia spells clear them. Check the bestiary for full enemy weaknesses. Navigate west as far as possible, then south to find the only room in the cavern.
Treasure and the Warp Cube
The room has six chests: Wizard's Staff (casts Confuse as an item), Ribbon (protects against all status effects - give this to your healer), Defender (strong sword), and plenty of Gil. After looting the chests, find the Robot in the room and talk to it. The Robot gives you the Warp Cube. You won't use this until the Mirage Tower, but you need it to progress.

With the Oxyale and Warp Cube, you're ready to face the Fiend of Water. Fly back to Onrac and find the mermaid by the dock in the southeast corner. She'll let you use her submarine to dive down to the Sunken Shrine.
Treasure Chests
The Waterfall Cavern has 6 chests in a single room. The Ribbon is essential for your healer.
